“This is more than a music video. It’s a prayer.”
Our People is the debut music film from Camagu Productions in collaboration with genre-bending South African music trio NLite. Set against the textures of Johannesburg and told through an Afro-Surrealist lens, the film explores the duality of human nature: how even protectors can cause harm, and how healing is often found only through divine light.
Rooted in spiritual symbolism and visual poetry, Our People follows the story of an angel sent to kill another, its an emotional allegory for masculinity, faith, and the complexity of being. Those left behind must carry invisible scars while navigating a harsh world, holding fast to God’s presence as their only source of light.

This project marks a powerful collaboration between two emerging South African forces: Camagu Productions, a creative studio committed to spiritually grounded and emotionally potent storytelling, and NLite, known for their experimental fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and soul.
Together, Camagu and NLite have crafted a bold offering, part music video, part cinematic meditation anchored in Black consciousness, African spirituality, and visual innovation
Our People premiered with a live performance and screening experience, launching Camagu Productions and cementing its mission: to create work that resonates deeply, challenges convention, and centers the sacred.
