Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi For Thebe Magugu.

I have been salivating over these images ever since I saw them on the bird app. Inspired by Zozibini Tunzi’s famous speech during the 2019 Miss Universe Q&A session, particularly when she urged us to “take up space.” Thebe translated what he describes a “historic speech” into a 3 part photography series that is showcasing his Merino Wool Collection.

Styled by Chloe Andrea Welgemoed and captured by Kristin-Lee Moolman Zozi looked dazzling and undeniably appealing draped in a pink wool suit, black Sunday Best boots and completed with a clean-cut fade and the Thebe Magugu logo neck tattoo. The second look encompasses of the black Sunday Best boots, a pink pleated skirt, a black belt, a pink wool choker top and an unusual hair-do one would see on Zozi, a curly mullet.

This is another form of representation I absolutely admire. Two South Africans representing South Africa internationally. and seeing two of those South Africans that are household names globally elevating each other through their crafts is something we, as Culture Club – Magazine are absolutely here for!
