The African giant, Burna Boy, a Nigerian Afro-fusion musical artist is set to release a new body of work titled, “Twice As Tall” this coming Friday, the 14th of August 2020. This new offering will be his fifth studio album. His previous album, “African Giant” was a collective of political songs and bops. It solidified him as the Odogwu. Executively produced by Diddy, Bosede Ogulu and Burna himself, “Twice As Tall” started being teased a couple of days ago. According to sources, it’s said to be something we might not be ready for.
Burna always sets a high quality standard for his features. He has collaborated with Jorja Smith, the legendary Grammy award winning Angelique Kidjo and the also Grammy award winning Damian “Jr Gong” Marley just to point out a few names. This time around, he featured Naughty By Nature, Sauti Sol, Stormzy and Chris Martin on “Twice As Tall.” He never goes under par with the features.
Burna boy is known for making music that addresses Nigerian political history and current struggles. He is also known for drawing inspiration from the late Fela Kuti, who was also an advocate for Nigerians who were being forced to endure the colonialism in the 70’s. Burna’s songs tell the story whereas the music videos paint a more vivid picture. With that said, let’s continue counting down days to the release of this gem.
