Darkie fiction is a musical duo from the Eastern cape that is now based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their music touches base with the influences of Kwaito, Afro-funk, Neo-soul and hip hop but falls under the musical genre of Alternative/Indie.
A couple (Yoza myanda and Kuthulakwe-Nkosi siboto) dropped a music video of their song “Iz’thunzela” which was on the album they dropped earlier on this year, “Endaweni.” The music video was shot during lock down as they mentioned on Twitter, where the video was directed and edited by Yoza myanda and was shot by the both of them but Kuthulakwe (KattDaddy) got to be the one behind the styling.

The music video circulates around the prisms of their surrounding, where they give us a hint of their outdoors and indoor vibes with relations to the song. It contains, only, of the duo and their healing voices accompanied by the motions and paying homage to the lighting and paying detailed attention to the clothing KattDaddy put together for the video.
For a detailed look on the video, check out their website. Darkiefiction.com and stream Endaweni on all digital streaming platforms.
