Montsho is a drawing series of seven black women’s portraits printed on transparency films. The transparency films serve as a symbol of reflection. We are all reflected in one another’s faces. As women, we share.

5D9A78A0-CF10-49B7-BD24-56F31BD33555Her Version of History.

Her Version of History is a self-made book that portrays how I see myself. It is a reminder that I am the woman that I am today because of other women. The personal connection I have to each and every woman portrayed in the book is a reflection of myself in them. In this artwork, I wear hairstyles that they wore decades ago. I become the women that they are, the women that made me who I am. I create a version of history that celebrates that I am a part of a history that belongs to others.

This is a picture of a couple. They are both wearing clothes over their faces so we can’t see their faces. This just means that, they don’t want anyone to know about what they have because it might get broken.
