Sold-Out State of Pitori Address Marks New Chapter for Sportscene Capsule Nights

This past Saturday, 30 May 2026, sportscene’s iconic music and culture festival, Capsule Nights, made a triumphant return after a two-year hiatus, completely taking over the historic South African State Theatre for an unforgettable celebration of youth culture, music, and streetwear. Under the powerful theme “State of Pitori Address,” the highly anticipated, sold-out event brought together thousands of culture custodians, fashion enthusiasts, and music fans to witness the ultimate intersection of style, sound, and self-expression.

The spectacular night was headlined by Pretoria’s very own President ya Straata, Focalistic. His performance marked the ultimate culmination of an ongoing collaboration with adidas Originals and sportscene, following a high-energy three-city campus tour across the University of Pretoria, University of the Western Cape, and University of Johannesburg that built massive anticipation for his
latest sneaker collaboration, the adidas Foca Forum 2000.

Rooted in the irreplaceable energy of Pretoria and South African youth culture, the festival delivered a stacked, community-driven lineup. Attendees were treated to monumental sets from some of the country’s biggest names in amapiano, hip-hop, and dance music, including A-Reece, Pabi Cooper, and Shandesh, to name a few.

Beyond the stage, the South African State Theatre was transformed into an interactive cultural hub. Attendees immersed themselves in premium brand experiences and interactive installations powered by sportscene, adidas Originals, and Jägermeister, showcasing the absolute best of local street culture.

Capsule Nights continues to cement sportscene’s unwavering commitment to creating platforms that champion local culture, spotlight influential voices, and unite communities through the shared languages of music and fashion.
