Half & Halve Presents Their Debut Exhibition: Klop Klop – Identity: A Brightly Coloured Archive

Cape Town’s art scene is set to welcome a bold new chapter with the official debut exhibition from Half & Halve, a production house on a mission to empower creatives of colour. Titled Klop Klop – Identity: A Brightly Coloured Archive, the show opens on Saturday, 21 June 2025 at Under The Aegis in Gardens, Cape Town.

Known for their vibrant work across fashion, film, and music, Half & Halve brings their distinct lens to the world of fine art for the first time. With creativity, storytelling and cultural homage at the core of their practice, Klop Klop marks an exciting evolution in their journey to creating an intimate body of work rooted in identity, legacy and community.

The exhibition features sixteen original artworks alongside a short documentary film, together forming the foundation for a long-term, multifaceted project that centres a coloured, distinctly South African perspective and artistic expression as living archives.

As a collective committed to uplifting marginalised voices and rewriting the visual language of representation in South Africa, Half & Halve’s debut is more than an exhibition — it’s a mission statement. A bright, unapologetic one.
