Ebumnandini was founded in 2018 by a multidisciplinary duo— Stiff Pap, Jakinda and Ayema Probllem and then the team expanded with the addition of Franadilla and Lenzo Mangonyane —Ebumnandini has grown into a vibrant fusion of community, music, culture, and fashion. It has become a central hub for artists and creative professionals to party, collaborate, network, and enjoy great music.
Today, Ebumnandini celebrates six years of creative collaboration, continuing to be a space where a stylish mix of creatives dress to impress, dance the night away, or relax with cocktails while mingling at the bar. I had the honor of getting each of the founders, to share their thoughts and reflections on this milestone anniversary.
Additionally, we compiled a visual timeline of Ebumnandini, showcasing its journey from the very first event to the most recent one through images from over the years.

Reaching this six-year milestone with Ebumnandini means so much to me. It’s a testament to our resilience and passion for creating memorable events. Like any business, we’ve faced our share of challenges—tight deadlines, unexpected obstacles, and moments where things felt impossible. But what stands out is how we’ve come together as a team to get over those humps, learning and growing from each struggle. Each setback became a stepping stone to where we are today, and it’s incredible to reflect on how far we’ve come.

I’m really proud to see what we’ve created over the last 6 years. I’ve always wanted to create an environment that feels intentional and caters to the people who didn’t feel that they wanted to go to clubs but still wanted to go out. I wanted us to create a space where the music was prioritized along with the experience of those attending. I wanted a space that musicians felt they could perform and be themselves. I’m proud to say we did that. There’s still a lot of work to do and that excites me. I’m excited by the future and all that it will bring. I feel like a proud father and I’m just grateful to all the people who believed in us and the community that we’ve established.

Ebumnadini’s 6th birthday represents a milestone in fostering creativity and self-expression among young minds. To me, Ebumnadini symbolises: Freedom to explore style and art without boundaries. Ebumnadini has been representing freedom, inclusivity, and inspiration – a vibrant sanctuary where individuality thrives, empowering voices, amplifying dreams, and breaking norms.

6 years might not seem like much but it’s a testament, a testament to belief. These days it feels as though many movements, projects, events come and go, they pass and dissipate with time. I think we saw that happen the most in COVID. One thing I am continually proud of is how we have been able to adapt to the times, not letting a single moment definitively determine who we are.

The first Ebumnandini in Johannesburg was all a blur but also such a vivid memory.

The year 2019 was so pivotal for youth culture as it was a time when the meshing of different generations came together in the city, and Kitcheners was the perfect melting pot for it. It didn’t matter who you were, but when you came to Kitcheners, you were all on the same playing field, you just wanted to have a good time.
Join us this Friday as we celebrate our 6 years. It’s destined to be a good time.
