21-year old MeccaMind is a musical artist, that is Cape Town based but hails from Bloemfontein. He started his music career at a mere age of fifteen and has since been perfecting his craft. Influenced by artists like Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, Erykah Badu and the whole Soulection movement it’s pretty evident that his music falls roughly along those type of sounds infused with multiple genres including; RnB, soul and alternative.
MeccaMind released his debut mixtape titled Roses, which encompasses of a total of sixteen songs in 2020. The fourth song is titled Straight Vibin’ and the idea behind it was sparked by the waves of emotions that kept hitting Mecca when he first moved to Cape Town last year, “the song is one of my favourites because it sums up how I felt after moving to CPT perfectly, I was sad, lonely and lost you can hear in the lyrics I paint it perfectly and vividly” summarized MeccaMind.

He released the visuals of this particular song earlier this year and some of its inspirations come from the Awaken, My Love! A Donald Glover album cover art. The stills in this article are the only spoiler I’m giving away, if you haven’t watched the video watch it below.
