After a good run of her third studio album, Celia which was released nearly a year ago on the 27th of August 2020. Tiwa Savage has now released another body of work in a form of an EP titled Water & Garri. This new five-tracked 19 minutes long EP is a must listen mostly because we know Pharrell Williams gave it a thumbs up and because we know that Tiwa bags the most incredible features. From, Sam Smith, Stefflon Don and Davido (to name a few) on Celia. She up’ed her game on Water & Garri with features from the living rap mogul, Nas and Grammy-award winning RnB sensation, Brandy.
The EP opens up with bass guitar cords from Word Fada in which she features Nas & Rich King. We then get to hear her pierce through the instruments in what slightly sounds like a patois tone and reggae melody, “Hazy boy o hazy boy, sitting pon a lazy boy, one more hour on tha FIFA, too far along to play with toy” she sings. The rest of the track list includes Ade Ori, Tales by Moonlight with Amaarae, Somebody’s Son with Brandy and Special Kinda with Tay Iwar.
